NATO country in panic; "The Kremlin is becoming extremely dangerous"

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda confirmed today that intelligence services had received information about possible Russian provocations in Poland or the Baltic states, which could be aimed at testing NATO’s unity.

Nausėda told BNS in an interview that the information concerns possible limited attacks on critical infrastructure facilities, including energy and transport networks, which could be carried out using various methods.

"I cannot deny that we have such information and that we are talking about targeted operations that could, very likely, be aimed at critical infrastructure facilities," the Lithuanian president said.

He said that, based on these assessments, security measures for key facilities in the country have been strengthened, particularly those important for the functioning of the energy system and Lithuania’s connection to the European network.

According to him, possible Russian activities could include physical damage to infrastructure, ranging from sabotage to drone attacks.

"Anything that could disrupt the functioning of these facilities must be taken seriously," Nausėda said.

Speaking about the war in Ukraine, the Lithuanian president assessed that the situation in the Kremlin is deteriorating and that Russia is becoming more dangerous due to growing pressure caused by the consequences of the war and Ukrainian attacks on Russian infrastructure.

"The Kremlin is becoming extremely dangerous because, in desperation, it is beginning to consider things it had not considered before," Nausėda said.

He added that Lithuania must not rely on the assumption that risks will decrease, but must be prepared to respond to possible threats.
