Blunt message to America: It's over
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf accused the United States today of violating the Memorandum of Understanding, saying that the era of bullying and extortion is over.
"Violations of Iran's maritime arrangements in the Strait, continued threats of further strikes, the reinstatement of oil sanctions, attacks on southern Iran, and the continuation of Zionist aggression against Lebanon," he wrote.
As he put it, "The era of bullying and extortion is over."
"We will not surrender," Qalibaf concluded.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Monday evening that it had launched a series of airstrikes against targets in Iran, saying the operation was a response to what it described as Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, Iranian media reported powerful explosions in the south of the country.
Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the U.S. Treasury Department's decision to end the temporary suspension of sanctions on Iranian oil sales, saying the move violated the Memorandum of Understanding aimed at ending the war.
