"Monstrous mistake, comrades" PHOTO/VIDEO
On the night of May 18, Russian forces attacked a Chinese merchant vessel that was located in Ukrainian territorial waters, Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk said.
“It is interesting what motivated the Russians when they decided to target a Chinese merchant vessel in our waters last night with a Shahed drone,” the navy spokesperson noted.
For example, in the morning of May 5, Russians launched a drone attack on the port of Odesa. As a result of the strike, a civilian foreign vessel sailing under the flag of the Cook Islands was damaged.
Earlier, during one of the nighttime attacks in the Black Sea, Russian drones struck a civilian cargo ship heading toward one of the ports in the Greater Odesa area.
Prior to that, Russian forces also attacked port infrastructure in the Odesa region. At that time, a civilian vessel sailing under the Liberian flag was hit; it was traveling through Ukraine’s maritime corridor toward one of the Greater Odesa ports to load corn.
In addition, a Russian drone previously struck a foreign vessel while it was leaving the port of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region. Crew members were injured in that incident.
