Emergency evacuation ordered; Russia warns: "Withdraw diplomats" VIDEO
Russia’s Foreign Ministry has sent a note to diplomatic missions calling for evacuation from Kyiv in the event of provocations that Ukraine might attempt in order to disrupt the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow on May 9, Maria Zakharova said.
Zakharova stressed that Russia is not acting from a position of aggression, but from a position of an “inevitable response.”
According to her, the EU will not be able to silence the public threats made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We are aware of the position of the collective Western minority toward May 9: they are systematically destroying Soviet memorial heritage, exhuming the remains of Soviet soldiers, and rewriting and distorting history. By arming Ukraine, they are accomplices in the criminal plans of the Kyiv regime,” Zakharova said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that Russia fears the appearance of Ukrainian drones during the Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9, given that the event will, for the first time in a long period, be held without military equipment.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense warned that Russian troops would take all necessary security measures during the celebrations and that, in the event of an attack, they would launch a massive retaliatory missile strike on central Kyiv.
