Has Iran declared war on Europe?

According to the latest information, the United Kingdom is considering sending a large warship to Cyprus to defend the Akrotiri RAF base of the British Royal Air Force (RAF) from Iranian drone and missile attacks, Sky News reports.

It is stated that discussions are underway about deploying a Type 45 destroyer, the only ship in the British naval arsenal capable of launching ballistic missiles.

“We are seriously considering this. Nothing has been confirmed yet,” a source from Whitehall told the British television network.

It is reported that John Healey, the United Kingdom’s Defense Secretary, held meetings with military commanders on options to enhance the security of the RAF base at Akrotiri, which was first hit by a drone on Sunday evening and was targeted again by Iran yesterday.

If it decides to order the deployment of a Type 45 destroyer, London will position either HMS Duncan or HMS Dragon off the coast of Cyprus.

As later reported by the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, Esmail Baghaei said that Iran considers statements from Germany, France, and the United Kingdom regarding possible “defensive actions” against Iranian missiles launched at their bases in the Persian Gulf as a declaration of war.

“Iran considers this a declaration of war and participation with the aggressors (Israel and the USA),” Baghaei said.

He added that Europeans have adopted “contradictory” approaches to the ongoing war.

“They should abandon this indifference, because the consequences of any violation of laws and wartime rules will be such that a fire will erupt that will quickly spread to European countries and the world,” the Iranian official concluded.
