Is Hezbollah entering the war? "We will respond to the aggression"
The military movement Hezbollah has issued a statement regarding the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, saying it will confront the United States and Israel over their strikes on Iran.
The movement’s leader, Naim Qassem, stated that he would “assume his duty in confronting the aggression” and would not leave the “field of honor and resistance.”
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, following an emergency meeting of the Higher Defense Council, stressed that the decision on war and peace rests solely with the Lebanese state.
Qassem, who took over the leadership of Hezbollah after Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli strike in September 2024, described the killing of Ali Khamenei and other Iranian officials as “the height of criminality.”

- The Middle East is boiling: Iran’s brutal retaliation underway; U.S. soldiers killed; Israelis strike Tehran
Hezbollah organized a gathering in its stronghold in Beirut’s southern suburbs in support of Iran, calling on the faithful to read the Quran in mosques and hold mourning ceremonies for the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader.
