Keith Kellogg made these remarks during a panel discussion at the Ukrainian House in Davos, organized by the Viktor Pinchuk Foundation, reports European Pravda, as cited by the Croatian portal Index.

During the discussion, Kellogg expressed his belief that Russia will not win the war in Ukraine.

He said that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin has “sacrificed so much of Russia” that he is now looking for a way to “get out of this because he knows in the end he will not win this war.”

“I understand that the winter is harsh. I understand what is happening in Kyiv. I understand the temperatures. But I truly believe that if Ukraine survives this winter, January, February, and enters March and April, the advantage shifts to you—to Ukraine, not Russia,” Kellogg was quoted as saying.

He also noted that the problem is that Putin has psychologically reached a point where he simply cannot back down, adding that if the Russian leader were to give up, he would be admitting defeat and that everything he has done would be a failure.

Energy aid to Ukraine

Earlier, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a list of energy assistance provided by partners in January.

According to previous reports, Germany is expected to provide two mini-cogeneration power plants, while the Netherlands will allocate an additional €23 million for energy support. Denmark is also providing extra aid to Ukraine’s energy sector, contributing €20 million to help Ukrainians get through the winter.
