According to him, diplomacy must always go “hand in hand” with pressure on Russia and support for Ukraine. U.S. President Donald Trump earlier stated that peace talks between Ukraine and Russia are ongoing and progressing “normally,” but that there is great “hatred” between Russian and Ukrainian presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky.
“There is enormous hatred between these two leaders, Putin and Zelensky. We are talking. Everything is going well. The war must be stopped,” Trump told reporters at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, as published on the White House YouTube channel.
In Miami, from December 19 to 21, the Ukrainian and American delegations held a series of meetings on a peace plan and spoke with Russian representatives, but no new meetings have been announced so far.
