The Americans raised the alarm: the weapons were deployed; The nuclear threat is growing
According to a draft Pentagon report, China has deployed more than 100 DF-31 missiles in three silo fields and shows no interest in arms control talks.
The report states that China is expanding and modernizing its nuclear arsenal faster than any other nuclear power.
Although Beijing dismisses these claims as an attempt to discredit, the Pentagon estimates that China had just over 600 nuclear warheads in 2024, with a projection of more than 1,000 by 2030.
US President Donald Trump said that he is considering a denuclearization plan with China and Russia, but the Pentagon estimates that China is not interested in it.
China, on the other hand, maintains that it adheres to a policy of nuclear self-defense and that it will not be the first to use nuclear weapons.
The report also warns of growing Chinese military capabilities in relation to Taiwan.
It is said that China wants to be able to win a possible war against Taiwan by the end of 2027 and is developing options that could seriously threaten the US presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
