"The European Union does not have an 'alternative plan' to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, said acting Dutch Prime Minister Dick Shoof in an interview with Algemeen Dagblad.

According to Shoof, discussions are currently underway on how to develop a plan 'that will be better for Ukraine and the EU.'

Speaking about the meeting of Ukrainian representatives with partners held the day before in Geneva, Shoof expressed the view that allies are currently moving in the right direction.

'We see that the U.S., Ukraine, and the EU are growing closer. This is important. Of course, there are concerns about the original 28-point plan, so it has been significantly adjusted,' he said."

At the meeting of representatives from Ukraine, the U.S., and the EU in Switzerland on October 23, Washington presented its peace plan. European countries, as previously reported, prepared an alternative proposal. Reuters reported that there are two peace plans, one of which, developed by the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, is similar to the American plan and was created based on it.

The peace plans differed on fundamental issues: the status of territories, NATO membership, and the fate of frozen Russian assets. According to the Financial Times and the Washington Post, after negotiations in Geneva, the American plan was reduced to 19 points.
