Kremlin responds to Macron's threats: "We will achieve our objectives — one way or another"

At a press briefing, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on French President Emmanuel Macron’s statement, in which Macron accused Moscow of “warlike stubbornness” and threatened “retaliation” if Russia does not “return to the negotiating table.”

“Russia is ready for a peaceful resolution. Russia is currently continuing its special military operation due to a lack of alternatives,” Peskov said, emphasizing that Moscow maintains its openness and readiness for peaceful dialogue, TASS reports.

He added that Russia will, “one way or another, safeguard its interests and achieve its goals.”

Peskov also stated that Moscow welcomes U.S. President Donald Trump’s intention to seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.

“We welcome the confirmation of political will to do everything possible to facilitate the search for a peaceful solution,” Peskov emphasized.

Moscow has repeatedly highlighted its inclination toward a peaceful, political-diplomatic solution in Ukraine, as well as ensuring equal security for all European countries. At the same time, it accuses Kyiv of consistently rejecting solutions based on what Moscow claims are just principles, with the support of the West.
