Who was targeting Jerusalem?
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced today that they successfully intercepted a missile fired at Israel from the direction of Yemen.
So far, there are no reports that anyone was injured, nor that material damage was caused, The Times of Israel reports.
After the IDF detected the rocket attack, air raid sirens sounded in and around Jerusalem, as well as in parts of the West Bank.
Yemen's Houthi rebels, who launched an attack on Israel last week with ballistic missiles and drones, have not claimed responsibility for today's attack.
The Houthis then announced that their ballistic missile had successfully hit Ben Gurion Airport, near Tel Aviv.
According to the Israeli military, the Huta ballistic missile disintegrated in the air during descent, and some of the fragments fell in central Israel, without significant damage.
