Trump, are you serious?
US President Donald Trump's statements about Russia are very serious, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today, adding that Russia needs time to analyze the messages from Washington.
"President Trump's statements are serious, some of them were addressed personally to the President of Russia. We certainly need time to analyze," Peskov said, reports the Russian agency RIA Novosti.
He said that Moscow is ready to continue the dialogue with Kyiv, adding that Washington wants the same, and "allegedly, so does Europe".
He added that Putin will comment on Trump's words if he deems it necessary.
"Let's wait for his decision," said Peskov.
He also stated that Moscow has not yet received any answers regarding holding a possible next round of negotiations with Kyiv.
"It is difficult to say what it is connected with, but we are ready to continue the dialogue," said Peskov.
He assessed that Kyiv does not perceive the decisions made in Washington and NATO as a sign of peace, but of the continuation of the war.
He also commented on the statement of the head of NATO against the main Russian negotiator, Vladimir Medinsky.
"In the Kremlin, they do not agree with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte's assessment regarding the composition of the Russian delegation in the negotiations with Ukraine in terms of rank, Medinsky is above the head of the Ukrainian delegation," he said.
