"I'm sending 'patriots'"
US President Donald Trump will send Patriot missiles to Ukraine, saying that Kyiv needs them to defend itself against Russia.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin says nice things, and then in the evening he bombs everything," Trump said, according to Reuters.
He did not specify how many missiles will be sent to Ukraine, but he pointed out that the European Union will reimburse the costs of the missiles.
"We will send the 'patriots' they desperately need, because Putin surprised a lot of people. He says nice things, and then he bombards. There is one small problem, and that is that I do not like such things. Basically we are sending various pieces of sophisticated military equipment to Ukraine. They will pay the full price for it, because it suits us that way,'' Trump told reporters.
A ceasefire in Gaza this week?
Speaking about a potential cease-fire agreement in the Gaza Strip, Trump expressed hope that it would happen this week.
"Negotiations are ongoing and I hope we can reach an agreement by the end of the week," Trump said.
Trump pointed out that he spoke with the deputy director of the US FBI, Dan Bongino, to reduce public dissatisfaction with how the US Department of Justice ended the case of accusations against Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged list of clients.
When asked by journalists whether Bongino will remain in that position, Trump answered positively.
