Sixth round of negotiations with the US canceled after Israeli attacks

Senior Iranian MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi, a member of the Parliamentary Commission for National Security and Foreign Policy, said today that the sixth round of talks with the United States of America will not be held after the Israeli attacks on Iran.

The US and Iran have been in talks over the nuclear program, and their sixth round of talks is scheduled for Sunday in Oman.

Israel launched a "preemptive strike" on Iran overnight, targeting the country's nuclear program and senior military leaders.

The Israeli military said 200 fighter jets were used.

In retaliation, Iran launched over 100 drones towards Israeli territory, the Israeli military said.

Iranian Government: Starting a war with Iran is playing with the lion's tail

The government of Iran announced that the Israeli attack on that country, which killed several Iranian generals, scientists and citizens, proved that this, as they say, "illegitimate regime" does not follow any international rules or laws.

The announcement states that Israel "openly and brazenly engages in terror and stokes the flames of war before the eyes of the world," including Western countries that claim to respect human rights and international law.

"Starting a war with Iran is playing with the lion's tail. The cowardly night operation during the diplomatic process on the Iranian nuclear issue is a sign of this regime's fear of Iran's power to convince the world that although we Iranians have never started a single war in the past 200 years, we have not hesitated to defend our homeland," it added.

In the statement, it is estimated that the Israeli invasion and the "cowardly assassination" of Iranian generals proved that this regime is terrorist in nature, IRNA reports.

It notes that revenge against Iran is a "legitimate right" and that Tehran will respond strongly to "the Israeli terrorist regime that kills children."

"There is no need to talk to such a predatory regime except in the language of force. The world now better understands Iran's insistence on the right to enrichment, nuclear technology and missile power, and the enemy has made it possible to demonstrate our correctness, who is the aggressor and which regime threatens the security of the region," the statement said.

The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has announced that it has initiated the necessary defensive, political and legal measures to "make illegitimate Israel repent from this moment," and to "prevent the Zionists from sleeping peacefully."

It also asked the United Nations Security Council to defend the dignity and credibility of the world organization against the collapse of the international system.
