Marines "on hold"; Chaos spreads across America; Police cars vandalized PHOTO/VIDEO
In Los Angeles, a curfew is in effect in the downtown area. Protests against immigration raids spread to other US cities on Monday, including San Francisco and Santa Ana, California, as well as Dallas and Austin, Texas.
The curfew lasts for another three hours
In Los Angeles, three hours remained until the end of the curfew, and the city police called the owners of business establishments to report material damage.
The curfew ends at 6 a.m. local time.
Total chaos: Mass arrests - 86 people behind bars
New York police arrested 86 people at a protest against the immigration policy and deportations carried out by the administration of US President Donald Trump, during which there were several clashes between members of the security forces and demonstrators.
The police announced today that 52 people, who were arrested on Tuesday evening in Lower Manhattan, received court summonses for criminal acts, while the others were charged with disturbing public order and peace, reports the New York Post.
Thousands of protesters, many wearing keffiyehs in support of Palestine, also chanted anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) slogans and clashed with police outside the agency's office, where security forces arrested more than 10 protesters.
2,100 members of the National Guard on the streets of Los Angeles, the Marines await orders
Hundreds of Marines are awaiting deployment in the Seal Beach area, about 50 kilometers south of Los Angeles, a US official confirmed to Reuters.
It is recalled that Trump mobilized 700 marines stationed in California, after having already deployed the National Guard three days ago.
