Orbán sent a worrying message: We are getting deeper and deeper into war
The war in Ukraine has taken a worrying new turn, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said after a meeting of the Hungarian Defense Council, stating that, despite all the efforts of US President Donald Trump, the war is getting deeper.
Orbán stated in a video, which was published on social networks late last night, that "Brussels bureaucrats do not support America's peace plans".
He repeated that Hungary opposes the continuation of the war in Ukraine and supports Trump's peace efforts, while Brussels, as he stated, decided that Ukraine should continue the war, MTI reported.
Orbán said that the Brussels leadership will put Hungary under enormous pressure to join the "pro-war European coalition", and that Hungary will resist this. He emphasized that the Defense Council made "necessary decisions" in the interest of the country's security.
"We will continue to defend Hungary's sovereignty and the safety of Hungarian families," Orbán said.
