Intolerance is growing; America said: We are concerned...
American officials are worried that Israel could launch strikes on Iran because of that country's nuclear program without prior warning, the "New York Times" reported today.
The report said US intelligence believed Israel could prepare for an attack in as little as seven hours, giving the United States no time to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to abandon such a plan.
The New York newspaper said US intelligence agencies doubted the effectiveness of a unilateral strike by Israel, while Israeli officials believed the US would have no choice but to provide aid to Israel if Tehran retaliated.
The report also states that Israeli officials have told Washington that the attack could be carried out even if a nuclear deal is reached between the US and Iran.
These allegations followed reports of disagreements between US President Donald Trump and Israel's prime minister over Iran's nuclear program.
