This is the new pope: The chosen name revealed
With white smoke over the Sistine Chapel and the ringing of the bells of St. Peter's Basilica on Thursday afternoon, the citizens of Rome and the world were informed that the 267th head of the Roman Catholic Church was elected, it is American Robert Prevost.
The identity of the new pope has been revealed, he is Robert Francis Prevost, and as stated, he chose the name Leo XIV.

The new pope is originally from Chicago.
