Assailant from Vancouver killed 11 people at the festival; It is known what will happen to him
A man who drove his car into people gathered at a Filipino community festival in Vancouver on Saturday night, identified as Kai-Ji Adam Lo, 30, was charged Sunday with eight counts of second-degree murder, Canadian media reported.

The Canadian police announced that 11 people were killed in the attack, five of whom were 65 years old, while around 20 were injured.
According to the Canadian CBC, 32 people, including 11 killed, were hospitalized in several hospitals after the attack, and 17 of them are still being treated, some of them in a serious condition.
Police said they had no prior indication of a threat to visitors to the Lapu-Lapu festival, named after an indigenous resistance fighter in the Philippines who fought against Spanish colonizers in the 16th century.
The police announced yesterday that they are not investigating this attack as an act of terrorism, and that the suspect had previously had several interactions with the police and health workers from the department for mentally ill people.
Lo made a brief appearance in court on Sunday afternoon, did not request bail and will remain in custody until his next hearing, scheduled for May 26.
Because of the tragedy in Vancouver, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney canceled activities scheduled for Sunday, the last day of campaigning before the parliamentary elections, which are held today in that country.
He said Canadians were "heartbroken" by the incident and expressed his condolences to the bereaved.
