The US president criticized Europe, saying it spent more money on buying Russian oil than on helping Ukraine.

Trump said that, on the other hand, the USA gave hundreds of billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine.

He also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin felt powerful enough to attack Ukraine because of the way the Biden administration handled the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan ahead of the Taliban's entry into Kabul in August 2021.

Trump recalled the bombing at the entrance to the international airport in the Afghan capital, in which 13 American soldiers were killed.

"When Putin saw what was happening, I guess he said, 'Well, maybe this is my chance.' It was so poorly executed. It should never have happened. Extremely incompetent people," Trump said of his predecessor's administration in the White House.

BBC: While Trump was talking about Ukraine, the Democrats were walking out

Several Democrats left the US Congressional Chamber after Trump mentioned Ukraine in his speech, the BBC reports.

According to a BBC reporter, more lawmakers continued to get up and leave the chamber as Trump spoke, and at one point there were dozens of empty seats on the Democratic side.

Al Green kicked out of the hall

US President Donald Trump's address to Congress was marked by an incident that caused one congressman to be removed from the hall. It is Democrat Al Green.
