"Djokovic was a real artist on the court"

Another one of the former tennis players who sent a series of praises to the Serbian tennis player was Andy Roddick.

"Novak's formidable weapon was his second serve. He didn't allow Alcaraz to get comfortable. When he had enough time, Djokovic was a real artist on the court. When he didn't have enough, he was a bit rushed. It was like telling an artist he has 30 minutes to make a picture, so it doesn't turn out to be the best version of what he is capable of making," said Roddick, adding:

"Novak won the match with his second serve, there's no doubt about that. Carlos stood tall on the court and Djokovic "pinched" him with his second serve again and again. I was confused why Alcaraz didn't pull back a little and he did it only at 4:3 in the fourth set, when he had several break chances".
