Confirmed: Belgrade to host Europa League Final!
The 2028/29 Europa League final will be played at the future National Stadium in Surčin.
The decision was made at a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee in Thessaloniki.
The Europa League final will be played on May 23, 2029, at the future National Stadium, which is being built as part of the EXPO project in Surčin.
“Yes, it is true, the Europa League final will be played in Surčin,” the Football Association of Serbia told B92 Sport.
The host of the Champions League final in the same season will be Barcelona.
According to the latest information, construction of the National Stadium in Surčin is expected to be completed in early 2028.
Hosting the Europa League final is another confirmation of the support enjoyed by Serbia and the Football Association of Serbia from UEFA, which is also pursuing a strategy of development and support for the Western Balkans region.
It should be recalled that Serbia and Albania will also co-host the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
In addition to Belgrade, the host cities will be Leskovac, Loznica and Bačka Topola. This project was also part of UEFA’s broader support, while simultaneously representing an investment in strengthening regional cooperation across the Western Balkans.
