Djokovic sparred for an hour, Sinner in easy rhythm ahead of clash with the GOAT – PHOTO
Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner trained the day before their meeting in the Australian Open semifinal.
Although rain caused problems for the players in Melbourne on Thursday, Djokovic trained outdoors at 1573 Arena, next to the Margaret Court Arena.
He sparred at a light pace for about an hour against 17-year-old junior Daniel Jovanovski, an Australian of Macedonian descent.
Djokovic focused particularly on his serve and return.
Meanwhile, Sinner trained a bit more intensely for just an hour and then worked on his serve.
Unlike the Serbian, the Italian did not take any risks with the weather forecast and completed his entire training indoors at the National Training Center.
Djokovic and Sinner will face each other on Friday at 9:30 AM local time.
This will be their 11th meeting, with Sinner having won six times, including the last five encounters.
Last season, Sinner defeated Djokovic in three sets at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, and in Melbourne, he beat him in the 2024 semifinal in four sets.
