D-Day at Partizan: What will happen with Željko Obradović?

Željko Obradović submitted his resignation as head coach of BC Partizan, and the board of directors initially thanked him and bid farewell to the legendary coach, only to reject his resignation the following day.

On Thursday, Obradović traveled from Athens to Belgrade, where several thousand fans greeted him at the airport, hoping to convince him to change his mind. The reception stirred strong emotions for the Serbian coach, though he did not make any public statement that day.

Ostoja Mijailović stated that Partizan will do everything it can to keep Obradović and that the club is ready to meet his requests, but it seems that now it may be too late.

“According to information from Mozzart Sport, the Executive Board of BC Partizan will hold another urgent meeting at 1 PM, and this time Obradović himself will be present. The only item on the agenda is known: the request for him to stay.

The final decision ultimately rests with Obradović, who is surely shaken after experiencing the support he felt yesterday upon arriving in Belgrade,” the Mozzart portal reported.
