Jokić scored 55 points! Bogdanović had a solid performance VIDEO
Nikola Jokić delivered a spectacular performance as the Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 130–116.
The Serbian center scored an astonishing 55 points in just 34 minutes on the court, adding 12 rebounds and 6 assists!
Jokić dropped 25 points in the first quarter alone, shooting 18/23 from the field, including 5/6 from three. He added 8 points in the second quarter and another 19 in the third.
He scored more points than all the Clippers starters combined!
He spent most of the fourth quarter on the bench but added another three points.
He came close to recording his seventh triple-double of the season, finishing with six assists.
The Serbian center made 5 of 6 three-pointers and 14 of 16 free throws.
Jokić was best supported by Aaron Gordon, who scored 18 points with five rebounds; Jamal Murray, who added 15 points along with five rebounds, four assists, and four steals; and Tim Hardaway Jr., who contributed 12 points.
On the other side, Serbian national team captain Bogdan Bogdanović scored 11 points with six assists in 20 minutes on the court.
Bogdanović made four of eight field goal attempts, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc.
James Harden scored 23 points – hitting all 10 of his free throws – along with eight rebounds and five assists, leading the struggling Clippers. The team had already suffered a major blow earlier in the day when it was confirmed that Bradley Beal would miss the rest of the season due to a hip fracture.
The Clippers are also without Kawhi Leonard, who is sidelined with a wrist and foot injury.
Jordan Miller came off the bench to add a career-high 22 points, while Ivica Zubac contributed 18 points. Despite their efforts, Los Angeles recorded their sixth consecutive loss and now have a 3-8 record.
The Nuggets won for the first time in a game where Jokić scored over 50 points, snapping a streak of four previous losses.
The Clippers managed to keep pace with Jokić’s brilliant offense in the first half.
After trailing by ten points in the first quarter, they managed to turn the game around and take a ten-point lead, heading into halftime up 68-63.
Jokić took full control in the third quarter, twice scoring six consecutive points.
The Nuggets entered the final period with a 106-90 lead.
