State of Emergency declared in Kladovo due to fire; Residents urged to exercise caution

Fire and rescue teams from Kladovo, Bor, Donji Milanovac and Majdanpek remain deployed in the area, working to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading further. Machinery and personnel from public utility companies, as well as residents of the affected villages, are also involved, TV Kladovo reports.

Residents have been urged to act responsibly and refrain from burning stubble, low vegetation, and waste in open areas.

In Rtkovo, a fire that had spread across 20 hectares between the village exit and the local football field was extinguished at around 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Three vehicles from the fire and rescue service and the local volunteer fire department, with seven firefighters, took part in extinguishing the blaze.

Since the beginning of August, 22 open-area fires have been recorded in the municipality of Kladovo, most of them caused by negligence and carelessness.
