Cold spell is coming to Serbia: Prepare for worsening weather conditions, frost expected

According to weather outlook for this week, a cold spell and rain are expected to arrive in Serbia, while heavier precipitation is also forecast in the southern part of the country. The cooling trend may even bring morning frost, RHMZ warns.

At the beginning of this week, rain and a drop in temperature have been announced, with daytime temperatures expected to be around 10°C. In the second half of the week, specifically on Thursday, morning frost is also expected.

On Monday, April 20, the afternoon will be changeable, with alternating sunny and cloudy intervals and local short-term rain showers, and in northern areas possibly thunderstorms, according to the Republic Hydrometeorological Service of Serbia (RHMZ).

Light to moderate winds are expected, and in Vojvodina and the east occasionally strong northwesterly winds.

The RHMZ also forecasts that in the evening and during the night, northern Serbia will mostly be dry, while in other areas occasional rain is expected.

From Tuesday, April 21, it will be cloudy, occasionally rainy, and colder, especially in southern Serbia where a larger amount of precipitation is expected

In the north of the country, conditions will be partly cloudy, dry in the morning, and in the middle of the day and afternoon there may be occasional short rain showers or brief thunderstorms, according to the Republic Hydrometeorological Service of Serbia (RHMZ). Winds will be weak to moderate, northwesterly. Morning temperatures will range from 6 to 10°C, while daytime highs will be from 12°C in the south to 18°C in eastern Serbia.

The end of precipitation is expected in most places in the evening, except in the south.

On Thursday frost is expected

By the end of the week, conditions will be partly cloudy with sunny intervals. In the second half of the week it will become warmer, and only isolated short-lived rain showers are expected, mainly in mountainous areas, according to the Republic Hydrometeorological Service of Serbia (RHMZ).

Conditions for light ground frost are expected on Thursday, April 23.
