Scientists have developed a “Universal Waste Management System” that allows astronauts to both defecate and urinate, the BBC reports.

The system is designed for use by both women and men.

Artemis II is the first mission to orbit the Moon in over 50 years. The launch is scheduled for tonight, shortly after midnight on Thursday, April 2, at 00:24 local time, which corresponds to Wednesday evening in U.S. Eastern Time.

The mission will launch from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, with the current weather forecast giving about an 80 percent chance of favorable conditions.

Following the successful Artemis I mission in 2022, NASA’s Artemis program is preparing for deep-space missions, with the ultimate goal of reaching Mars in the 2030s.
