Belgrade power plants announced: Important notice for all citizens

"Functional tests of the system begin tomorrow, October 1, and we will carry out functional tests of the district heating system until October 9. Concretely, every day we will check the operation of the heating plants and boiler plants, starting on Wednesday, October 1, in the heating plants 'Voždovac' and 'Banovo brdo' and the boiler plants 'Luka Beograd', 'Gak Narodni front' and 'Šeher', and ending on October 9 in the heating plant 'Miljakovac', where a complete modernization has been introduced," Vanja Vukić, director of the Belgraded power plants, told Tanjug.

Functional tests include checking the operation of all 15 heating plants and 16 boiler rooms. On that occasion, says Vukić, the hot water network and substations will be checked.

"The whole system will be in operation, only the radiators will not be warm," explained Vukić.

"Beogradske elektrane" emphasizes that these are not heating tests and that users should not expect warm radiators in their homes.

It is recommended for apartment owners to be in the apartment during that period and report a malfunction if they notice a water leak from the installations. The test plan was published in the media and on the website of "Beogradske Elektrane", so that every user can check when the tests will be done in his heating area, Vukić said.

"According to the decision on the supply of thermal energy to the city, Article 43, the heating season officially starts on October 15, but according to the same decision, in the period from October 1 to 14, if the average daily temperature is forecast to be 12 degrees or lower, the 'Belgrade power plants' will turn on heating, that is, they will go into heating functional tests," announced Vukić.
