An indictment was filed against 12 people, they planned to destroy the system ahead of the protest on March 15

Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad issued a statement saying that it had filed indictments against 12 people on suspicion that they were preparing "a crime against the constitutional order and security of Serbia" ahead of the protest on March 15.

"The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad informs the public that on May 12, 2025, it submitted an indictment to the High Court in Novi Sad against the defendants: M.C., S.Dj., L.D., M.V., L.J., D.S., B.Dj., D.B., M.P., D.A., A.P. and J.D. due to reasonable suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of Preparation of acts against the constitutional order and security of Serbia in co-perpetration from Article 320 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 in connection with Article 33 of the Criminal Code in connection with the criminal offense Attack on the constitutional order from Article 308 of the Criminal Code and the criminal offense Calling for a violent change of the constitutional order from Article 309 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.

In relation to the defendants: M.C., S.Dj., L.D., M.V., L.J., and D.S., who are in custody, the indictment proposed that the High Court in Novi Sad extend their detention, for the reasons for which it was determined. In addition, it was proposed to the High Court in Novi Sad to order a trial in absentia for the defendants: B.Dj., D.B., M.P., D.A., A.P. and J.D., who are on the run and unavailable to state authorities.

The Prosecution proposed that the High Court in Novi Sad, after the main trial, declare the defendants guilty and impose the maximum penalties prescribed by law for the criminal offense they are charged with," the statement said.
