The man who desecrated the place where respects were paid to the victims of the fall of the canopy is arrested
Members of the Novi Sad police, in cooperation with their colleagues from Sremska Mitrovica, identified and detained the man who on May 4 desecrated the memorial site at the corner of the Boulevard of Liberation and Jaša Tomić Street.
Members of the MUP in Novi Sad, in cooperation with the PU in Sremska Mitrovica, identified and arrested R. S. (42), from the area of Stara Pazova, who is suspected of having desecrated the place where, for months, citizens have been paying their respects to the victims of the fall of the canopy at the Railway Station on May 4, at the corner of Boulevard Oslobodenja and Jaša Tomić.
The competent public prosecutor declared that there were no elements of a criminal offense in this incident, so a request was filed against R.S. to initiate misdemeanor proceedings, due to the suspicion that he committed the offense of indecent, insolent and reckless behavior from Article 8 of the Law on Public Order and Peace.
R. S. was detained for up to 24 hours and with a request to initiate misdemeanor proceedings, he will be brought before the judge of the Misdemeanor Court in Novi Sad.
By the way, the entire public was appalled by a video over the weekend that showed R.S. desecrates candles and flowers in front of the Novi Sad railway station.
