Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that the number of prescriptions and new medicines added to the national medicines list is increasing every day. Yesterday, 4,387 prescriptions were filled, three times more than the day before, while around 4,400 prescriptions were issued.
During a visit to the new Emergency Medical Service building at the Kuršumlija Health Center, he explained that not everyone collects their medicine on the same day they receive a prescription from their chosen doctor.
“On the first day, there were 1,000-something; on the second day, already nearly 5,000. Today, I believe there will be many more than that. And that shows how much this means to people. These medicines for anticoagulants and all the others—for heart failure, for blood sugar, for diabetes—mean a great deal to people,” he said.
He noted that there had been problems with finding these medicines in some pharmacies, but that the issue was being resolved, adding that medicines would also arrive in Užice today.
