“A important meeting with Ursula von der Leyen, António Costa, Emmanuel Macron, and Friedrich Merz on Serbia’s European future, the EU enlargement process, and the steps we are taking within our reform agenda.

I spoke about the activities that Serbia is implementing in order to fulfill obligations from the accession process, including reforms in the area of the rule of law, electoral legislation, and the implementation of recommendations from relevant European institutions. I emphasized that Serbia will fulfill all recommendations of the Venice Commission, in line with European standards.

We also discussed the situation in the region and in Europe. I stressed the importance of peace, stability, and cooperation for any further progress, as well as the importance of maintaining a credible enlargement policy and a clear European perspective for the countries of the Western Balkans. I expressed the expectation that the European Union will present and improve a new enlargement methodology, which would further strengthen the European integration process of candidate countries,” Vučić wrote on Instagram.
