Local elections in Kosovo and Metohija: Major blow to Kurti; Serb List wins a convincing victory

A total of 57,786 Serbs turned out to vote.

Vučić congratulated the Serb List: “I am proud of your struggle; they cannot erase the Serbian name and identity” 

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić called into the Serb List headquarters in North Mitrovica tonight to congratulate the party on its victory in today’s local elections in Kosovo and Metohija.

Vučić emphasized that he is proud of them, their struggle, and the Serbian people in the southern Serbian province.

“First, let me tell you that the party, after our state, after our Serbia, is always the most important. I am proud of you, of your struggle, of the people in Kosovo and Metohija. Even though they counted us out, we managed to fight back. They cannot erase the Serbian name and identity. I have taken blame upon myself, even when I was not at fault. I will always be with you, sisters and brothers. We will continue to fight — long live the Serbian people! Long live Serbia, and thank you, sisters and brothers. I wish all the best to you and your families,” Vučić said.

Novak Živić is the new mayor of Gračanica

Serb List (SL) candidate for mayor of Gračanica municipality, Novak Živić, declared victory in today’s local elections and praised the SL for demonstrating unity and responsibility toward the party, the state, and the people.

“Thank you all for everything you have done; you worked from morning until night. As I said, my doors will always be open in the future. None of this would have been possible without you — we did everything together,” Živić said.

He added that the Serbian state will continue to be present in Kosovo and Metohija, “even more and stronger,” including in Gračanica.

“Together with you, we will build a better future,” Živić stated.

According to data from the Central Election Commission in Pristina, Živić won 62.54 percent of the vote.

Milović declared victory in Zvečan elections: “The best response to repression”

Serb List candidate for mayor of Zvečan, Dragiša Milović, declared victory in today’s local elections, calling it the best response of the Serbian people to the repression they have endured.

“Today, with your votes, after three years, we have returned our municipality of Zvečan to you, our citizens. Thank you for your trust and for this outstanding result. This is support for the Serb List, but also for all of us. Zvečan should be proud of these results,” Milović said.
