Pristina is reportedly particularly concerned about voter turnout in northern Kosovo and Metohija, as it signals the end for so-called Albanian mayors, media reports indicate.

It is clear that Pristina is unsettled by Serbian unity, which is visible everywhere, as polling stations are full and Serbs are determined to elect their own Serbian mayors, the reports emphasize.

The Serb List has also faced criticism simply for standing with its people.

Numerous Serbian citizens gathered at the main square in the municipality of North Mitrovica near "Car Lazar," RTV Dukagjini journalist Doruntina Bilikbaši reported, noting that authorities considered this gathering unlawful.

Pristina analyst Blerim Burjani also expressed concern over the high turnout of Serbian voters going to the polls in a coordinated manner.

“This type of organization is illegal and against democracy,” he complained.

Media reports suggest that Pristina would prefer to keep the so-called Albanian mayors in power in northern Kosovo and Metohija, which explains why they are troubled by the large turnout of Serbian voters.
