Local elections in Kosovo and Metohija: Huge crowds at polling stations; Serbs with tricolors head to vote
Local elections are being held in Kosovo and Metohija today. Polling stations opened at 7 a.m., and voters will be able to exercise their right to vote until 7 p.m.
A total of 93 political entities are taking part in the elections, including 32 political parties, two coalitions, 32 citizens’ initiatives, and 27 independent candidates.
According to data from the Central Election Commission (CEC) in Pristina, the total number of eligible voters is 2,069,098 — with 2,025,105 residing in Kosovo and Metohija and 43,993 abroad.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated today that he hopes for the victory of the Serb List in the local elections being held in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, and that part of the authority will be returned to their hands.
Živić: These are elections where we cannot afford to make a mistake
After casting his vote in the local elections in Kosovo and Metohija, Serb List candidate for mayor of Gračanica, Novak Živić, stated that this is a very important day for all Serbs living in the region.
"Once again, I repeat, these are elections where we cannot afford to make a mistake, and I am confident that the people have no doubt about whom they will vote for. I would like to take this opportunity to urge all citizens to go to the polling stations and exercise their right to vote. I expect the election day to proceed peacefully and in proper order. I also expect that Gračanica and the central part of Kosovo, after tonight’s results from the polling stations and the election headquarters, and every Serbian household, will celebrate a convincing victory," Živić said.
Slavko Simić voted in Leposavić
Member of the Presidency of the Serb List, Slavko Simić, cast his vote today in Leposavić.
He voted at the Nikola Tesla Technical High School in Leposavić.
Igor Simić voted
Member of the Presidency of the Serb List, Igor Simić, exercised his civic right this morning and went to vote.

A large number of citizens gathered in front of polling stations in Kosovska Mitrovica today to exercise their civic right and vote.
