Deputy to Zagorka Dolovac Awarded; The Prosecutor Who Signed the Warrant

Namely, on July 28, 2025, Nataša Trninić received a decision from Zagorka Dolovac to extend her assignment to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime (TOK) for another three years, starting from September 1, 2025, the date when she was originally expected to return to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office (VJT) in Belgrade.

Trninić, who on August 1 signed the order to conduct the investigation instead of prosecutor Aleksandar Barco, who was on vacation in Sardinia at the time, had received the decision to extend her assignment to TOK just three days earlier.

The decision to extend Trninić's assignment to TOK for the next three years was signed by Dolovac. Her previous assignment expired this month, and she was scheduled to return to her position at the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Požarevac.

Although this is a regular procedure within the existing legal framework, the timing of the order’s signing and the extension of her mandate raises questions, both within the profession and among the public. This is especially relevant given the high public interest in this case, and the fact that the document was signed on behalf of another prosecutor, a practice considered questionable if there is no clear and prior authorization.

To recap, Nataša Trninić, deputy prosecutor and long-time associate of Supreme Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac, signed the document on behalf of Aleksandar Barco, who was in Sardinia at the time. She is the fourth signatory of the order for Momirović's arrest.
