Vučić: Everyone can receive incentives regardless of political affiliation

“What matters to me is to ask you just one thing. Today I received two messages from people I know and whom I know to be on the other side of the political spectrum. They told me: well, maybe we were right, maybe we were wrong, but that is our political choice. A year ago we applied for state subsidies, for state funds, and we didn’t receive them, probably because of that. I just want to send a message to those people, and to the government as well. So, just as Vuk Stefanović Karadžić once said, do not respond to someone’s harassment, ill will, or threats in the same way. Treat those people differently,” Vučić said in Ložionica.

He stressed that if those people meet all the criteria to deserve state support, they must receive it.

“We must be different from them, and then they themselves will be ashamed of what they did a year ago. So, all those people, just like these people and some others, and so on—even though I know there are those here as well who were against us last year—that must not be a criterion. All people must be treated equally when it comes to receiving funds, and I ask you to bear in mind that the criterion must be objective and fully professional—the criterion of responsibility and seriousness, regardless of political affiliation, because both wine and rakija belong to everyone, just as Serbia belongs to everyone,” Vučić emphasized.

Those of us who are in power, he added, must show that we are more responsible, different, and more serious than those who were not then, are not today, and never will be.
