At the same time, Telekom officially took over the digital platform for the diaspora NetTV and satellite Total TV, which brought more than 300,000 new users and represent the continuation of the company's strong expansion.

The general director of the national operator, Vladimir Lučić, presented to RTS today some new data about huge changes in the media and telecommunications market.

"We received the decisions of the commissions for the protection of competition in all four countries of the region and immediately after that started to complete the work, which gave Telekom ownership of practically all media sports content, national and international, as well as NetTV and Total TV. All Telekom channels that we own, but also with which we have distribution contracts, became part of SBB's offer from day one. This will mean a lot to us as a company, but also to users," said Lučić.

"People in Serbia are particularly interested in Arena Sport, which is available from now on with all operators. For 17 years, since 2008, there was a big battle for TV rights to broadcast sports, which has now ended and every user will be able to watch literally everything," Lučić pointed out.

The first next concrete step of Telekom Srbija, which is announced by the company's first man, seems maximally attractive.

"As of next month, we are starting to promote a media platform that will be similar to Netflix and that will be a great asset for us to expand in the diaspora. The battle for TV channels in Serbia and the region is over. From an operator that practically did not exist in the television and Internet markets until 2018, we have become the convincing number one. Now the key priority is the company's international expansion and new sources of income, through continued investment in content production and the development of digital services through our Fund for financing startups, where artificial intelligence is the most important for us and cyber-security", explained Vladimir Lučić.

Telecom with Europol combating piracy

Taking over the NetTV platform brought Telekom Srbija more than 100,000 users abroad, who already have all the new channels on offer. Telekom also works as a mobile operator in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, so NetTV users, primarily our people in the diaspora, will be able to become MTS mobile users on very favorable terms.

"We are the only legal distributor of TV channels from the region at the international level, and together with Europol and other services we are working to fight media piracy, which is an extremely serious problem. We expect that we will reach a huge number of users abroad, which will even exceed the figure in Serbia of over 1.5 million," Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lučić emphasized to RTS.

As he explained, there is an extremely strong connection between the diaspora, both with each other and with the mother country, and Telekom will know how to get closer to it, among other things, by launching specialized channels "tailored" for the needs of our people abroad.
