Net Patrol launches Android app to mark Safer Internet Day

The app, Net Patrola - a supplement to an existing website - is available on Google Play.

It has been developed as part of a program aimed at growing system capacities to fight against violence and abuse targeting children on the internet.

The program is realized by the B92 Fund, Net Patrol, and UNICEF, with the financial support from the British government.

Those reporting illegal content via the app and the website are doing so anonymously, as the program does not collect any kind of identifying information about its users, their internet connection, or the type of mobile devices they use.

During 2015, the international organization INHOPE - of which Net Patrol is a member - removed from the internet over one million pieces of content, photographs and videos containing various forms of abuse of minors for pornographic purposes.

Net Patrol Safer Internet Hotline launched in late August 2013, while the Safer Internet Center Serbia was founded in January of the same year.
