The UN Security Council will today hold closed consultations on the situation in Kosovo. The meeting will also review the reports from UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and his special envoy to the province, German official Joachim Rucker. UN SC holds closed-door Kosovo meeting In their reports, the content of which was made public last week, Ban and Rucker caution the ambassadors of the UN's most influential body that the situation in Kosovo is fragile, particularly because of evident dissatisfaction of the local Albanians with the stalling in the resolution of the province's future status. The UN secretary-general also warned about the vandalism aimed against cultural and historic monuments, the resurfacing of a group UN designates as terrorist, the Albanian National army (ANA, AKSh), and the small number of Serb returnees to the province.
