No one was injured in the incident, but "substantial material damage" was reported.

Three stores were damaged in the explosion. The Kosovo police arrived and began investigating the site.

"It is still to be determined which type of explosive was used," Regional Chief of Operations at the Kosovo Police Željko Bojić told Tanjug.

The perpetrators targeted a fast food restaurant, owned by Đorđe Kostić. A café and a betting parlor were also damaged in the blast.

Several days ago, an explosive device was planted on the window of an apartment in Kosovska Mitrovica, belonging to Nebojša Marić.

Marić is a candidate for councilor on the electoral list of the Independent Liberal Party, which participates in the government in Priština.

News agencies are reporting that Kostić is also a candidate of the same party.
