A radical Kosovo Albanian movement has asked that their leader Albin Kurti be "unconditionally released". The Self-Determination movement sent an open letter to UNMIK chief Joachim Ruecker Monday with their demand. Pristina: Initiative to free Kurti It states that Kurti's house arrest is "a part of a systematic impediment to his political activity, which [his activity] is oriented against the political process of Kosovo negotiations, and in favor of Kosovo residents' right to self-determination." Kurti was arrested on February 10 this year, when a demonstration he organized turned violent and cost two people their lives. He has been in house arrest since July. Two days ago, a panel of international judges at Kosovo's Supreme Court extended this measure for two extra months.
