Companies from Kosovo "have not started exporting goods to Serbia", said Kosovo Albanian officials in Pristina on Tuesday. "(Serbian) Customs officers were asking importers to present documentation of the parallel tax structures of the Republic of Serbia in Kosovo, because they said the documents issued by the Kosovo authorities were not acceptable to them" Kosovo Customs spokesperson Adriatik Stavileci said on Tuesday. Companies from Kosovo "not exporting to Serbia" Stavileci claimed that trucks "were allowed to enter Serbia lateon Monday and sent to the terminal in Presevo, but were sent back to Kosovo on Tuesday". He added "the exporter had standard documentation in line with the rules set by the CEFTA agreement," and that "the agreement on the recognition of customs stamps, reached September 2 in Brussels and confirmed by Kosovo customs officials, is based on the same things." Earlier today, the same spokesperson was quoted as saying: "Three trucks carrying Kosovo's goods passed through the Bela Zemlja crossing near (Kosovska) Kamenica early on Monday. The goods had accompanying documentation of the Republic of Kosovo." Reports earlier on Tuesday also said that officials in Pristina stated that "the passage of three trucks was the first instance of an unhindered export from Kosovo to Serbia after the 44-month-long blockage for the Kosovo goods", and added this was "a highly significant step" for the economy in Kosovo. Albanian language media were reporting today that the minister for trade in the Thaci government had sent a letter to the EU headquarters in Brussels noting that "the Belgrade authorities have not demonstrated goodwill to respect the agreement on implementation of customs stamps", but said the the EU "has not yet issued any official reaction to the letter." According to reports, since September 16 "several hundred trucks" carrying goods from central Serbia entered Kosovo.
