Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic has requested USD 300mn from the World Bank for projects in Serbia, reports said late Saturday. Djelic and a number of other officials are attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Serbia seeks funds from World Bank He told B92 that the World Bank assistance to Serbia will be increased by EUR 300mn, with two thirds of that money going toward infrastructure – specifically Corridor 10, and the rest to education and science. "We must reach an agreement with the World Bank over the reform program so that we can also get some USD 200mn from the previous portfolio the bank allocated," Djelic said. Managing Director of the World Bank Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala yesterday said she was satisfied with the way Serbia is conducting the reforms. The Serbian delegation in Davos held more than 60 bilateral meetings and organized a seminar for potential investors.
