TEL AVIV U.S. National Security Adviser Tom Donilon shared Washington's contingency plans for a possible attack on Iran with Israel's PM Benjamin Netanyahu. This is according to a senior U.S. official. Daily claims U.S. presented Israel with plan for Iran strike Donilon said the strike on Iran would happen if diplomatic attempts to stop Iran’s nuclear program failed, Israeli daily Haaretz writes. Donilon briefed Netanyahu on the plans during Donilon's visit to Israel two weeks ago, the daily writes. According to the U.S. official, Donilon shared information on U.S. weaponry and military capabilities for dealing with Iran's nuclear facilities, including those deep underground. However, a senior Israeli official denied on Sunday Haaretz’s report that U.S. President Barack Obama's national security adviser had briefed Israel's prime minister a U.S. contingency plan to attack Iran should diplomacy fail to curb its nuclear program. “Nothing in the article is correct. Donilon did not meet the prime minister for dinner, he did not meet him one-on-one, nor did he present operational plans to attack Iran," the senior official, who declined to be named given the sensitivity of the issue, told Reuters.
