Brazil qualifies for last 16; French in disarray The five-time world champions now have six points from two games and their third round match in Group G against Portugal will be a formality, while the Portuguese, who currently have one point, are yet to play their second round game against North Korea. Elsewhere, Group F saw what was arguably the biggest upset of the tournament so far, with New Zealand managing a 1-1 draw with Italy. Paraguay beat Slovakia and now sits at the top of the group with 4 points, followed by Italy and New Zealand that have two each, while Slovakia has one point. Meanwhile, France, who have one point from two games and are up against Group A leader Uruguay next, are facing turmoil. According to reports, the squad refused to practice on Sunday, in protest over the expulsion of Nicolas Anelka from the team earlier in the week over an incident that took place during France's 2-0 loss to Mexico. Anelka was sent home for verbally abusing coach Raymond Domenech. Reports said that French players were “unanimously against the decision to remove Anelka”, and maintained that the incident happened in the locker room and should not have become public.
