It’s the greatest loss of life the world body has suffered from a single incident in its 65-year history, UN officials said on Thursday. 61 UN personnel confirmed dead in Haiti Reuters quoted spokesman Farhan Haq who said that the devastating earthquake, that hit the island on January 12, caused the UN peacekeeping HQ and other buildings to collapse, killing involved 25 civilian workers, 24 military personnel and 12 police.
