A two-day strike by health workers has ended following an agreement between the workers’ union and the Kosovo Health Ministry. The union, which receives its pay from the Kosovo budget, accepted the Kosovo government’s proposal for a EUR 44 pay increase, in line with all other employees in the health sector. Health workers reach deal with Pristina The government accepted the union’s demands for the assembly to adopt two new laws: on work, and on health insurance and other benefits during working hours. It was agreed that after New Year, talks would continue together with World Bank and IMF representatives on improving health workers’ material status . Meanwhile, the public administration workers’ union, unhappy with their salaries, have announced that they will be holding a one-day strike on November 3.
